The 13th of August, 2005 we
became
official. There are twenty new
scouts in Nigeria. All of the scouts had to tie two knots,
the
square and bowline knots, in front of the whole troop and some of the
parents and other relatives. After their knot tying, they
were
required to say the Scout Oath and Law. Some did it
perfectly,
some struggled, but all passed and as a team, not just
individuals. All were cheered and congratulated by one
another as
they passed. Daddy Boy was the first in the Troop to be
called
forward to demonstrate the knots and although he was nervous, he to my
great pride and I'm sure to his, passed and received his Official
Certificate and became a Tenderfoot Scout. I am
so proud of all them. Also I would like to thank
some of
the
helicopter pilots at Aero Contractors Nigeria who helped out with some
much needed cash so refreshments could be bought for the Court of
Honor. It is much appreciated. Thank you guys.
